BUSINESS EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY:

Business education is a planned educational process that includes knowledge, concepts, and skills that will benefit all students in becoming productive workers, informed consumers, competent users of technology, and responsible citizens. It should be an integral part of the education of every student.

WELCOME TO ACCOUNTING!

You have made an exciting course selection. The Accounting class is a BUSINESS EDUCATION course; therefore, we will maintain a business-like atmosphere. A positive behavior will carry you a long way. Positive behaviors are things such as:

  •  Keeping your work area neat and clean

  •  Respecting EVERYONE in the classroom

  •  Working hard to complete assignments

  •

Negative behavior that is not allowed in the business atmosphere includes:

  •  Being loud and disruptive

  •  Getting out of your seat, leaving your workstation without permission

  •  Being disrespectful to ANYONE in the room

  •  Abusive language

  •

During the course of the year, students will be completing the accounting cycle for several types of businesses and also participating in an accounting simulation activity.  There will be several outside of class assignments that involve extensive time and use of the internet for research.  Students will also be completing automated accounting using Peachtree Accounting software.
